The Pluralumn* group of the German Network for Pluralism in Economics calls for papers and presentations for its 7th Scientific Workshop. The workshop is open to all young scholars and early-career researchers, such as advanced Bachelor and Master students, PhD students and PostDocs. This year, the Pluralumn* Workshop will take place online.
We welcome papers that take a pluralist approach to economics and from any field or school of thought within economics. We welcome contributions based on qualitative and quantitative approaches, mixed-methods designs or otherwise non-standard methodologies. Likewise, we encourage submissions from adjacent disciplines such as sociology, political science, psychology, history and philosophy that discuss economic phenomena or aim to enhance economic methods and methodology.
The aim of the Pluralumn* Workshop is to bring together young scholars and early-career researchers to enable exchange between colleagues one would rarely meet at specialized conferences and symposia.
The workshop will offer two distinct presentation formats depending on the state of the research to be presented:
- Formal talk: Submit and present a paper draft (for far developed projects).
- Idea consolidation café: In this collaborative workshop, research ideas can be discussed and receive feedback on their topic and method.
Participation without presentation is also possible. The conference language is English. The Pluralumn* Workshop is free of charge. We aim to structure the online Workshop in a way that accommodates participants across multiple time zones. To this end, we will collect information on participants’ availability during the application process. Further information will be provided with acceptance notification.
We especially encourage submissions by:
- Structurally marginalised people in economics, including people with disabilities and first-generation academics
- FLINTA* (Female, Lesbian, Inter-, Trans-, A-Gender people)
Submission deadline: June 21, 2026
Either an abstract (max. 500 words) or a description of the research idea is required. Expect notifications of acceptance by end of June to mid of July. Conference contributions should be in English to reach a broad audience. Submissions can be made via this link.
Registration deadline: July 15, 2026
