Preliminary schedule of the workshop week
In an era marked by rapid change and increasing complexity, traditional economic models are being challenged like never before. The theme of this year’s Summer Academy is „Diversity in Economic Thought – Exploring Pluralist Approaches and Rethinking Economic Policy for the 21st Century.“
We find ourselves at a critical juncture where conventional economic wisdom is being questioned, and new ideas are emerging to address the pressing issues of our time. From climate change to social inequality, the need for innovative economic policies has never been more urgent. This Summer Academy brings together students, young researchers, and educators to explore diverse economic theories and their practical applications. Through engaging workshops, insightful discussions, participants will delve into the plurality of economic thought and consider how these ideas can shape a more equitable and sustainable future.
Join us as we rethink economic policy for the 21st century, challenging existing paradigms and embracing the diversity of economic thought. Together, we will explore what it means to create an economy that works for everyone, addressing questions such as: What are the foundations of our current economic system? Where do we want to go from here? What changes are necessary, and how can we achieve them? What should we preserve, and what can we leave behind?

We are trying to accommodate as many applicants as possible to ensure lively discussions in each workshop group. Before you sign up, please ensure you are available to participate during the entire week (03 – 09 August).

We encourage German-speaking and non-German-speaking individuals from all disciplines to apply if they are willing to spend a week immersed in heterodox economics and economic policy with us.
